“The team at Harvey Norman is pivotal in the success of building the SFNL’s reach and ability to provide real time updates of what is happening on the field. They have been amazing to work with and have demonstrated a strong commitment to help us support our clubs and get behind community football and netball.” – Jason Torney, SFNL Executive Officer. The SFNL have committed to operating a final five finals series upon the completion of the home and away season. The League will adopt the traditional McIntyre final five system. The clubs will have an opportunity to host the 4 finals over the opening 2 weeks of the series while the SFNL will host the Preliminary and Grand Final, both to be held at the Mildura Sporting Precinct.

The SFNL believes this structure will create significant interest as teams compete for a coveted final five position.

In season 2024 and beyond, the SFNL is dedicated to actively increasing participation numbers in girls’ football. With the support of the clubs, the SFNL will fixture a Friday evening competition for the clubs that can field an Under 15’s girls’ team.

The SFNL believe the Friday fixturing is family friendly, allowing girls to experience playing footy on a Friday night while still taking part in netball or other sports that would traditionally clash with a Saturday schedule.
